Hello Men and Ladies, I would just like to call attention to a neu guard show opening this weekend in the City of Big Shoulders at the Leather Archives and Museum. The aim of this show is to expand those definitions of “Leather” into other extremes through “Queer” mindedness and negate the normally leather clad/rope bound body. For further info. check out our blog site and feel you have to leave a message.

I was very happy to receive the good news that my work will be included in Bruno Gmunder's latest male nude photography book, Night Visions (Photo Anthology), due to be released this Summer, 2008!
VISIONS - Contemporary Male Photography from 2006 was just the beginning! Our newest photographic anthology NIGHT VISIONS is again giving over 60 photographers the chance to present their works to a gay audience around the world. These highlights of contemporary male photography are collected on 320 pages. It includes well-known artists and plenty of promising newcomers. Whether romantic or fetish, sex or tenderness, staged or "street photography" - the over-arching theme is always the night. A wide variety of styles are represented and taken together they provide a good overview of contemporary gay art. This collection is a must for anyone interested in photography!
California based multi media Artist Erik Scollon caught my eye on Cool Hunting this week. It appears the talented artist incorporates his humor, as well as his sexuality, in his impressive , stylish and witty works of art.
"I try to queer up our ideas about what art can do by remaking and repurposing functional objects. At the same time, I'm trying to retell new histories in old languages. I want to make objects that exist in between the sculptural and the functional in an effort to insert art back into everyday life".

Lil Petey is having doubts about becoming bigger Petey. Log in to Git Bigger to weigh in.
"I'll admit, sometimes I do have second thoughts about all this. It is definitely a big decision to make, and because it takes so much time I have plenty of opportunities to change my mind. There are some little things that make me feel that way every so often. Every so often, the boyfriend misses being bigger than me and my abnormally-low body fat percentage. And sometimes I do too, but not too often.
From the start, I've had two main worries. The first being how my weight would impact my job, which won't be too much of a problem now, I don't think. The second was a much bigger worry, and that of course is health. All the time I see new studies about how being fat will cause some disease, the latest being how belly fat leads to dementia. I'm very paranoid about diabetes or heart problems, even though it doesn't run in my family. Heck, its extremely rare if people in my family don't live past 100.
Gainers don't really talk about health problems too much, I've noticed. This could be because it really isn't that common, or they just deny the risk because its discouraging. Gainers and encouragers I talk to all say "Oh, you work out. You'll be fine." I don't think its enough that I work out. All the talk seems to be that problems arise just being overweight. Still, it could be the case that obesity leads to a lot of problems because obese individuals got that way because of really unhealthy habits.
Either way, its better to be safe than sorry. I've started doing cardio every time I go to the gym to keep my heart healthy, and I'll get the nerve up to go get regular check-ups (I'm worried I already have a problem I don't know about.) And because most of these health problems arise later in life, I won't rule out the possibility of dropping weight as I get older.
It's all still up in the air. I don't even know if I'll like how I'll look when I get very heavy, but everyone seems to think I will. When I was little, everyone said how hard it would be for me to gain weight and that my frame was too small to be a large man. Nowadays everyone seems to think the opposite. Also, someone was nice enough to give me a preview of "the next 50 or so pounds" by morphing one of my latest pictures. Not bad!"

Self-portrait gallery is an interesting online collection of self-portraits presented in various media. Revealing self-portraits, such as this photograph of Paul Mpagi Sepuya, make the viewer want to learn a bit more about the subject. The collector of the portraits appears to remain anonymous, however, somehow adding to the gallery's intrigue.
the word according to wikipedia... a self-portrait is a representation of an artist, drawn, painted, or sculpted by the artist. Although self-portraits have been made by artists since the earliest times, it is not until the Early Renaissance in the mid 1400s that artists can be frequently identified depicting themselves as either the main subject, or as important characters in their work. With better and cheaper mirrors, and the advent of the portrait, many painters, sculptors and printmakers tried some form of self-portraiture. The Portrait of a Man by Jan van Eyck of 1433 is the earliest known panel self-portrait. He painted a separate portrait of his wife, and he belonged to the social group that had begun to commission portraits, already more common among wealthy Netherlanders than south of the Alps. The genre is venerable, but not until the Renaissance, with increased wealth and interest in the individual as a subject, did it become truly popular.
This is a collection of self-portraits. Every month I spend about $100.00 to acquire a work of art. The self-portraits are purchased online, from galleries and art schools, found at garage sales, donated, or bought directly from the artist. Mediums vary.
The self-portraits are posted in the order that they are acquired. The aim is to bring artists’ own images together from across periods, styles, and places.
More forced changes in the air to the ways I've been used to shooting and practicing my artwork. Oh the woes of being a stubborn old dinosaur. Polaroid says goodbye to the instant film technology that so many baby-boomer generation artists, photographers and enthusiasts, such as myself, have grown up with, not to mention goodbye to professional proofing applications for larger format Polaroid backs. There is a Save Polaroid site, but don't have my hopes up. I guess I'll just have to explore the maze a bit further in search of some fresh cheese, or maybe something else.
"Due to marketplace conditions, Polaroid has discontinued almost all of its instant analog hardware products. Polaroid has also made the difficult decision to cease manufacturing of instant film products in 2008."
Pete, aka: Stupid Git, recently tips the scales at 240 (and still gaining, with his sites set at 400 plus). The 21 year old gainer marks the occasion with a new youtube video and some new photos taken by his encourager BF, Rob.
